North Stanly Comets (New London, NC) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the host South Davidson Wildcats (Denton, NC), 7-4 in a non-league challenge.

The Comets now own a 5-5 record. They take the field next when they host South Stanly for a Yadkin Valley 1A/2A challenge on Friday, March 24. North Stanly will battle a Rowdy Rebel Bulls squad coming off a 15-0 non-league win over Central Davidson (Lexington, NC). The Rowdy Rebel Bulls record now stands at 6-1.

With the loss, South Davidson falls to 2-4 on the campaign. The Wildcats travel to Thomasville (Thomasville, NC) to battle the Bulldogs in a Central Carolina 1A/2A challenge on Friday, March 24. The Bulldogs enter the challenge with a record of 1-5. Thomasville lost 18-1 in their recent league challenge against Salisbury (Salisbury, NC)
