In Saturday's non-league game, the host Newton County Cougars baseball team scored a tight 9-5 victory over the Enterprise Bulldogs.
The Cougars (13-5) will now prepare for their game against Northwest Rankin (Brandon, MS). The Cougars go into the non-league game with a 10-4 record. In their last game, Northwest Rankin tipped Petal (Petal, MS), 23-3, in a league game.
