Carrollton Hawks (Carrollton, IL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Auburn Trojans (Auburn, IL), 5-2 in a non-league challenge.

The Hawks now own a 5-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Staunton for a non-league challenge on Monday, March 25. Carrollton will face a Bulldogs squad coming off a 14-3 non-league loss to Wesclin (Trenton, IL). The Bulldogs record now stands at 4-1.

With the loss, Auburn falls to 4-2 on the campaign. The Trojans host Hillsboro (Hillsboro, IL) to face the Hiltoppers in a non-league challenge on Monday, March 25. The Hiltoppers enter the challenge with a record of 5-2. Hillsboro lost 10-3 in their recent non-league challenge against Greenville (Greenville, IL)
