Dyer County Choctaws (Newbern, TN) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the host DeKalb County Tigers (Smithville, TN), 11-9 in a non-league challenge.

The Choctaws now own a 12-3 record. They take the field next when they host Crockett County for a 3A District 13 challenge on Tuesday, March 26. Dyer County will battle a Cavaliers squad coming off a 7-6 non-league win over Munford (Munford, TN). The Cavaliers record now stands at 5-3.

With the loss, DeKalb County falls to 5-3 on the campaign. The Tigers travel to Dundee-Crown (Carpentersville, IL) to battle the Chargers in a non-league challenge on Monday, March 25. The Chargers enter the challenge with a record of 1-4. Dundee-Crown lost 10-2 in their recent non-league challenge against Page (Franklin, TN)
