St. Joseph-Ogden Spartans (St. Joseph, IL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Illinois Valley Central Grey Ghosts (Chillicothe, IL), 4-0 in a league challenge.

The Spartans now own a 3-1 record. They take the field next when they host Bishop McNamara for a non-league challenge on Tuesday, March 26. St. Joseph-Ogden will battle a Fightin' Irish squad coming off a 11-1 non-league win over Marian Catholic (Chicago Heights, IL). The Fightin' Irish record now stands at 1-1.

With the loss, Illinois Valley Central falls to 3-4 on the campaign. The Grey ghosts host Princeville (Princeville, IL) to battle the Princes in a non-league challenge on Wednesday, March 27. The Princes enter the challenge with a record of 2-1.
