Moore Catholic Mavericks (Staten Island, NY) fans exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Jefferson-Morgan Rockets (Jefferson, PA), 6-3 in a non-league challenge.

The Mavericks now sport a 1-0 record. They take the field next when they host Padua Franciscan for a non-league challenge on Sunday, March 24.

With the loss, Jefferson-Morgan falls to 0-2 on the campaign. The Rockets travel to Carmichaels (Carmichaels, PA) to face the Mighty Mikes in a WPIAL 1A 2 challenge on Tuesday, April 2. The Mighty Mikes enter the challenge with a record of 2-0.
