The Morristown-Hamblen West Trojans routed the visiting Johnson County Longhorns softball squad by a count of 8-0 in Saturday's non-league battle.
The Trojans (5-1) will now prepare for their battle against Greeneville (Greeneville, TN). The Greene Devils go into the non-league battle with a 5-4 record. In their last battle, Greeneville topped David Crockett (Jonesborough, TN), 4-3, in a non-league battle.
The Longhorns now sport a 2-6 record. They play next when they travel to Sullivan East for a non-league battle on Saturday, March 23. Johnson County will meet a Patriots squad coming off a 5-4 non-league loss to Dobyns-Bennett (Kingsport, TN). The Patriots record now stands at 2-7.
