Roxana Shells (Roxana, IL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad run past the host Marquette Catholic Explorers (Alton, IL), 16-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Shells now own a 5-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Freeburg for a Cahokia - Mississippi challenge on Tuesday, March 26. Roxana will battle a Midgets squad coming off a 10-0 non-league win over Mt. Vernon (Mt. Vernon, IL). The Midgets record now stands at 7-1.

With the loss, Marquette Catholic falls to 1-4 on the campaign. The Explorers host Greenville (Greenville, IL) to battle the Comets in a non-league challenge on Monday, March 25. The Comets enter the challenge with a record of 3-4. Greenville won 10-3 in their recent non-league challenge against Hillsboro (Hillsboro, IL)
