Sacred Heart Valkyries (Louisville, KY) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Tates Creek Commodores (Lexington, KY), 8-5 in a non-league challenge.

The Valkyries now own a 6-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to Mercy for a non-league challenge on Monday, March 25. Sacred Heart will battle a Jaguars squad coming off a 16-6 non-league loss to Henderson County (Henderson, KY). The Jaguars record now stands at 4-4.

With the loss, Tates Creek falls to 2-6 on the campaign. The Commodores host Lexington Catholic (Lexington, KY) to battle the Knights in a District 43 challenge on Wednesday, March 27. The Knights enter the challenge with a record of 7-1. Lexington Catholic lost 4-3 in their recent non-league challenge against Harrison County (Cynthiana, KY)
