In Thursday's non-league battle, the host Lexington Wildcats soccer squad scored a close 2-1 win over the Cardinal Newman Cardinals.
The Wildcats (11-2) will now prepare for their battle against Dutch Fork (Irmo, SC). The Silver Foxes go into the AAAAA Region 5 battle with a 1-4 record. In their last battle, Dutch Fork was nudged by River Bluff (Lexington, SC), 4-1, in a league battle.
The Cardinals (1-3) will now prepare for their battle against Heathwood Hall Episcopal (Columbia, SC). The Highlanders go into the SCISA AAA Region I battle with a 5-0 record.
