The crowd at Thursday's non-league match between the Canyon View Jaguars (Waddell, AZ) and the visiting Sunrise Mountain Mustangs (Peoria, AZ), saw Canyon View's softball squad nip Sunrise Mountain by a count of 9-8.

The Jaguars now sport a 9-3 record. They take the field next when they host Millennium for a 5A Desert West match on Friday, March 25. Canyon View will face a Tigers squad coming off a 12-11 non-league win over Horizon (Scottsdale, AZ). The Tigers record now stands at 1-8.

With the loss, Sunrise Mountain falls to 5-5 on the campaign. The Mustangs host Gila Ridge (Yuma, AZ) to face the Hawks in a 5A Northwest match on Friday, March 25. The Hawks enter the match with a record of 10-9. Gila Ridge won 20-4 in their recent non-league match against Yuma (Yuma, AZ)
