The Powell County Pirates softball squad (Stanton, KY), was edged 8-7 in Monday's non-league contest with the visiting Paris Greyhounds (Paris, KY)

With the triumph, Paris improves its record to 5-1 on the year. The Greyhounds travel to Montgomery County (Mt. Sterling, KY) to face the Indians in a District 40 contest on Tuesday, March 25. The Indians enter the contest with a record of 3-2. Montgomery County lost 4-2 in their recent non-league contest against Wolfe County (Campton, KY)

The Pirates now hold a 2-3 record. They play next when they travel to Estill County for a District 56 contest on Thursday, March 27. Powell County will face a Engineers squad coming off a 15-0 league win over Owsley County (Booneville, KY). The Engineers record now stands at 2-2.
