In Monday's non-league match, the host Tarboro Vikings softball team scored a tight 38-37 victory over the Southeast Halifax Trojans.

The Vikings (2-2) will now prepare for their match against Gates County (Gatesville, NC). The Red Barons go into the Four Rivers 1A match with a 4-6 record. In their last match, Gates County was nipped by Bear Grass Charter (Williamston, NC), 10-0, in a non-league match.

In their next game, the Trojans battle the Rocky Mount Prep Jaguars (Rocky Mount, NC) in a Tar Roanoke 1A match, on Tuesday, March 25. Southeast Halifax will attempt to better on its 2-2 season record. The Jaguars go into the match with a 2-2 record after their 7-0 league loss to Warren County (Warrenton, NC).
