Owen Warhorses (Black Mountain, NC) supporters were pleased Friday as they observed their soccer team hold off the visiting Brevard Blue Devils (Brevard, NC), 2-1 in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Warhorses confront the Mitchell Mountaineers (Bakersville, NC) in a Western Highlands 1A/2A challenge, on Monday, March 28. Owen will attempt to move on its 1-4 season record. The Mountaineers enter the challenge with a 0-1 record after their 1-1 non-league North Buncombe (Weaverville, NC).

The Blue Devils now possess a 6-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to R-S Central for a Mountain Foothills Seven 2A challenge on Tuesday, March 29. Brevard will confront a Hilltoppers team coming off a 2-0 league loss to Patton (Morganton, NC). The Hilltoppers record now stands at 1-6.
