The Gillespie Miners baseball team scored 16 runs and limited the host Riverton Hawks to 0 in the Miners non-league victory on Saturday.
The Miners (3-0) will now prepare for their match against Metro-East Lutheran (Edwardsville, IL). The Knights go into the non-league match with a 0-2 record. In their last match, Metro-East Lutheran was overwhelmed by Father McGivney Catholic (Glen Carbon, IL), 12-5, in a league match.
The Hawks (0-2) will now prepare for their match against Heyworth (Heyworth, IL). The Hornets go into the non-league match with a 0-3 record. In their last match, Heyworth was overwhelmed by Henry-Senachwine (Henry, IL), 8-1, in a non-league match.
