Belen Eagles (Belen, NM) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad run past the host Moriarty Pintos (Moriarty, NM), 27-0 in a non-league challenge.

The Eagles now own a 9-6 record. They take the field next when they host St. Pius X for a 4A District 5 challenge on Tuesday, March 28. Belen will battle a Sartans squad coming off a 9-3 non-league loss to Atrisco Heritage Academy (Albuquerque, NM). The Sartans record now stands at 7-6.

With the loss, Moriarty falls to 8-2 on the campaign. The Pintos host Pojoaque Valley (Pojoaque, NM) to battle the Elks/Elkettes in a 4A District 2 challenge on Wednesday, March 29. The Elks/Elkettes enter the challenge with a record of 3-5.
