Kosciusko Whippets (Kosciusko, MS) fans exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad achieve victory over the visiting DeSoto Central Jaguars (Southaven, MS), 11-0 in a non-league challenge.

The Whippets now sport a 12-5 record. They take the field next when they host Northeast Lauderdale for a 4A Region 4 challenge on Tuesday, March 28. Kosciusko will face a Trojans squad coming off a 13-8 league loss to Choctaw Central (Philadelphia, MS). The Trojans record now stands at 0-7.

With the loss, DeSoto Central falls to 9-7 on the campaign. The Jaguars travel to Northwest Rankin (Brandon, MS) to face the Cougars in a non-league challenge on Saturday, March 25. The Cougars enter the challenge with a record of 13-1. Northwest Rankin won 9-0 in their recent non-league challenge against Brandon (Brandon, MS)
