Destrehan Wildcats (Destrehan, LA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Willow Lions (New Orleans, LA), 16-15 in a non-league challenge.

The Wildcats now own a 4-7 record. They take the field next when they host Hahnville for a 5A District 7 challenge on Tuesday, March 28. Destrehan will battle a Tigers squad coming off a 2-1 non-league win over Haynes Academy (Metairie, LA). The Tigers record now stands at 14-12.

With the loss, Willow falls to 7-4 on the campaign. The Lions travel to Landry (New Orleans, LA) to battle the Buccaneers in a non-league challenge on Monday, March 27. The Buccaneers enter the challenge with a record of 0-0.
