The crowd at Saturday's non-league match between the Volcano Vista Hawks (Albuquerque, NM) and the host Hobbs Eagles (Hobbs, NM), saw Volcano Vista's softball squad nip Hobbs by a count of 9-7.

The Hawks now sport a 10-6 record. They take the field next when they travel to Cibola for a 5A District 1 match on Tuesday, March 28. Volcano Vista will face a Cougars squad coming off a 17-2 non-league win over Valley (Albuquerque, NM). The Cougars record now stands at 13-2.

With the loss, Hobbs falls to 6-7 on the campaign. The Eagles travel to Artesia (Artesia, NM) to meet the Bulldogs in a non-league battle on Tuesday, April 4. The Bulldogs go into the battle with a record of 6-3.
