West Carteret Patriots (Morehead City, NC) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Northwestern Wildcats (Albion, PA), 11-4 in a non-league challenge.

The Patriots now own a 4-5 record. They take the field next when they travel to Richlands for a Coastal 3A challenge on Tuesday, March 28. West Carteret will face a Wildcats squad coming off a 12-0 non-league win over South Brunswick (Southport, NC). The Wildcats record now stands at 9-2.

With the loss, Northwestern falls to 0-1 on the campaign. The Wildcats host Harbor Creek (Harborcreek, PA) to face the Huskies in a District 10 Region 3 challenge on Tuesday, March 28. The Huskies enter the challenge with a record of 1-2. Harbor Creek lost 11-3 in their recent non-league challenge against Clinton (Clinton, IL)
