Warren Central Vikings (Vicksburg, MS) fans exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the host West Harrison Hurricanes (Gulfport, MS), 1-0 in a non-league challenge.

The Vikings now sport a 10-8 record. They take the field next when they host Northwest Rankin for a 6A Region 6 challenge on Thursday, March 30. Warren Central will face a Cougars squad coming off a 5-4 non-league loss to Neshoba Central (Philadelphia, MS). The Cougars record now stands at 15-2.

With the loss, West Harrison falls to 6-8 on the campaign. The Hurricanes host Picayune (Picayune, MS) to face the Maroon Tide in a 5A Region 7 challenge on Tuesday, March 28. The Maroon Tide enter the challenge with a record of 2-7.
