LA SALLE LOSES SECOND STRAIGHT
Monday, March 25, 2024 – La Salle Academy dropped its second non-league game 0-14 to Port Chester High School, yesterday on Randall’s Island. Anthony Gonzalez took the loss but only gave up two runs (one earned) against seven strikeouts in four innings of work. The real story of the game was that the Cardinals only mustard one hit. Henry Vasseur’s opposite field single in the second, while striking out 17 times of their 21 outs as they fell to 0-2 on the season.
A tight 0-2 game got out of control in the top of the fifth as Cardinals made three errors, miscommunicated on several routine plays, and balked in two runs to really put the game out of reach. Three Port Chester pitchers combined on the 1-hit shutout.
