The Athens/PORTA Warriors (Athens, IL) soccer bounced the host Gillespie Miners (Gillespie, IL), 6-0 in Monday's non-league bout.
With the win, Athens/PORTA moves its record to 6-0 on the campaign. The Warriors travel to Auburn (Auburn, IL) to battle the Trojans in a Sangamo bout on Tuesday, April 2. The Trojans go into the bout with a record of 5-1.
In their next game, the Miners battle the Roxana Shells (Roxana, IL) in a non-league bout, on Wednesday, March 27. Gillespie will attempt to advance on its 2-5 season record. The Shells go into the game with a 4-2 record after their 2-0 non-league loss to Mater Dei (Breese, IL).
