In Monday's non-league contest, the Chardon Hilltoppers (Chardon, OH) softball team held off the visiting Butler Aviators (Vandalia, OH), by a margin of 5-4.
With the triumph, Chardon moves its record to 2-0 on the year. The Hilltoppers host David Crockett (Jonesborough, TN) to play the Pioneers in a non-league contest on Monday, March 25. The Pioneers come into the contest with a record of 5-2. David Crockett won 13-1 in their recent non-league contest against Unaka (Elizabethton, TN)
In their next game, the Aviators play the South Allegheny Gladiators (McKeesport, PA) in a non-league contest, on Thursday, March 28. Butler will attempt to move on its 0-1 season record. The Gladiators come into the contest with a 3-3 record after their 11-6 non-league loss to Mentor (Mentor, OH).
