Hough Huskies (Cornelius, NC) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Central Cabarrus Vikings (Concord, NC), 6-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Huskies now own a 6-5 record. They take the field next when they host Hopewell for a Queen City 3A/4A challenge on Tuesday, March 26. Hough will battle a Titans squad coming off a 15-5 league win over North Mecklenburg (Huntersville, NC). The Titans record now stands at 4-2.

With the loss, Central Cabarrus falls to 6-2 on the campaign. The Vikings travel to Lake Norman Charter (Huntersville, NC) to battle the Knights in a South Piedmont 3A challenge on Tuesday, March 26. The Knights enter the challenge with a record of 2-7. Lake Norman Charter lost 10-0 in their recent league challenge against West Rowan (Mt. Ulla, NC)
