The crowd at Monday's non-league match between the Maize South Mavericks (Wichita, KS) and the visiting Kapaun Mt. Carmel Crusaders (Wichita, KS), saw Maize South's softball squad achieve victory over Kapaun Mt. Carmel by a count of 18-8.

The Mavericks now sport a 2-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Andover for a non-league match on Thursday, March 28.

With the loss, Kapaun Mt. Carmel falls to 0-1 on the campaign. The Crusaders host Southeast (Wichita, KS) to face the Golden Buffalo in a non-league match on Tuesday, March 26. The Golden Buffalo go into the match with a record of 0-0.
