The crowd at Monday's non-league match between the McConnellsburg Spartans (McConnellsburg, PA) and the visiting North Star Cougars (Boswell, PA), saw McConnellsburg's softball squad nip North Star by a count of 11-10.

The Spartans now sport a 1-3 record. They take the field next when they host Windber for a non-league match on Wednesday, March 27. McConnellsburg will face a Ramblers squad coming off a 10-4 league win over Rockwood (Rockwood, PA). The Ramblers record now stands at 1-1.

With the loss, North Star falls to 0-2 on the campaign. The Cougars host Blacklick Valley (Nanty Glo, PA) to face the Vikings in a non-league match on Tuesday, April 2. The Vikings enter the match with a record of 1-2. Blacklick Valley won 7-4 in their recent non-league match against Moshannon Valley (Houtzdale, PA)
