McLean Highlanders (McLean, VA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad achieve victory over the visiting Union Pines Vikings (Cameron, NC), 10-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Highlanders now own a 2-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Brecksville-Broadview Heights for a non-league challenge on Tuesday, March 26. McLean will face a Bees squad coming off a 3-0 non-league win over James Madison (Vienna, VA). The Bees record now stands at 1-0.

With the loss, Union Pines falls to 7-2 on the campaign. The Vikings travel to Greenbrier East (Lewisburg, WV) to face the Spartans in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, March 26. The Spartans enter the challenge with a record of 5-1. Greenbrier East won 1-0 in their recent league challenge against Woodrow Wilson (Beckley, WV)
