Pinnacle Pioneers (Phoenix, AZ) fans exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Perry Pumas (Gilbert, AZ), 12-9 in a non-league challenge.

The Pioneers now sport a 13-3 record. They take the field next when they host Mountain Ridge for a 6A Desert Valley challenge on Tuesday, March 26. Pinnacle will face a Mountain Lions squad coming off a 4-2 non-league loss to Queen Creek (Queen Creek, AZ). The Mountain Lions record now stands at 10-7.

With the loss, Perry falls to 7-9 on the campaign. The Pumas host Basha (Chandler, AZ) to face the Bears in a 6A Premier challenge on Tuesday, March 26. The Bears enter the challenge with a record of 14-1. Basha won 10-0 in their recent non-league challenge against Canyon del Oro (Tucson, AZ)
