In Tuesday's non-league match, the visiting North Lamar Panthers softball team scored a tight 7-4 win over the Gunter Tigers.

The Panthers (9-7) will now prepare for their match against Pittsburg (Pittsburg, TX). The Pirates come into the 4A Region II District 14 match with a 4-7 record. In their last match, Pittsburg nipped Paris (Paris, TX), 17-0, in a league match.

In their next game, the Tigers battle the Howe Bulldogs (Howe, TX) in a 3A Region II District 11 match, on Friday, March 28. Gunter will attempt to better on its 15-9 season record. The Bulldogs come into the match with a 4-12 record after their 21-0 league loss to S & S Consolidated (Sadler, TX).
