The Sinton Pirates softball team scored 8 runs and held the visiting Lyford Bulldogs to 5 in the Pirates non-league win on Tuesday.

The Pirates now sport a 6-12 record. They put it on the line next when they host Calhoun for a 4A Region IV District 30 battle on Friday, March 28. Sinton will encounter a Sandcrabs team coming off a 11-0 league loss to Rockport-Fulton (Rockport, TX). The Sandcrabs record now stands at 10-11.

With the loss, Lyford moves to 6-9 on the season. The Bulldogs host Santa Rosa (Santa Rosa, TX) to encounter the Warriors in a 3A Region IV District 32 battle on Friday, March 28. The Warriors come into the battle with a record of 2-2. Santa Rosa won 24-9 in their recent league battle against Progreso (Progreso, TX)
