Montour Spartans (McKees Rocks, PA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Davie War Eagles (Mocksville, NC), 16-10 in a non-league challenge.

The Spartans now own a 2-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Ambridge for a WPIAL 4A 3 challenge on Wednesday, March 30. Montour will battle a Bridgers squad coming off a 9-4 non-league win over New Brighton (New Brighton, PA). The Bridgers record now stands at 1-0.

With the loss, Davie falls to 7-5 on the campaign. The War eagles travel to Glenn (Kernersville, NC) to battle the Bobcats in a Central Piedmont 4A challenge on Tuesday, March 29. The Bobcats enter the challenge with a record of 4-6. Glenn lost 8-1 in their recent non-league challenge against North Davidson (Lexington, NC)
