In Saturday's non-league contest, the Petal Panthers (Petal, MS) softball team overwhelmed the visiting Richton Rebels (Richton, MS), by a margin of 10-0.

With the triumph, Petal moves its record to 12-1 on the year. The Panthers host Oak Grove (Hattiesburg, MS) to play the Warriors in a 6A Region 5 contest on Tuesday, March 29. The Warriors come into the contest with a record of 11-3. Oak Grove won 10-3 in their recent non-league contest against Clinton (Clinton, MS)

In their next game, the Rebels play the Resurrection Catholic Eagles (Pascagoula, MS) in a 1A Region 8 contest, on Monday, April 4. Richton will attempt to move on its 0-2 season record.
