The Marvin Ridge Mavericks softball team scored 10 runs and limited the visiting Cannon Cougars to 0 in the Mavericks non-league triumph on Tuesday.

With the triumph, Marvin Ridge moves its record to 9-1 on the year. The Mavericks host Weddington (Matthews, NC) to play the Warriors in a Southern Carolina 4A game on Tuesday, April 9. The Warriors come into the game with a record of 9-0. Weddington won 8-1 in their recent league game against Cuthbertson (Waxhaw, NC)

In their next game, the Cougars play the Covenant Day Lions (Matthews, NC) in a NCISAA Charlotte game, on Tuesday, April 2. Cannon will attempt to move on its 2-4 season record. The Lions come into the game with a 4-7 record after their 17-11 non-league loss to Legion Collegiate Academy (Rock Hill, SC).
