Southside Panthers (Gadsden, AL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Wicksburg Panthers (Newton, AL), 4-2 in a non-league challenge.

The Panthers now own a 18-5 record. They take the field next when they travel to Hewitt-Trussville for a non-league challenge on Wednesday, March 27. Southside will battle a Huskies squad coming off a 3-0 non-league loss to Spanish Fort (Spanish Fort, AL). The Huskies record now stands at 16-4.

With the loss, Wicksburg falls to 18-8 on the campaign. The Panthers travel to Gulf Shores (Gulf Shores, AL) to battle the Dolphins in a non-league challenge on Wednesday, March 27. The Dolphins enter the challenge with a record of 18-4. Gulf Shores won 7-4 in their recent non-league challenge against Southeastern (Remlap, AL)
