The Barbourville Tigers softball team scored 9 runs and held the host Middlesboro Yellowjackets to 7 in the Tigers non-league win on Wednesday.

The Tigers now sport a 2-1 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Pineville for a District 51 battle on Thursday, March 27. Barbourville will confront a Mountain Lions team coming off a 5-4 non-league win over Middlesboro (Middlesboro, KY). The Mountain Lions record now stands at 4-1.

With the loss, Middlesboro moves to 1-3 on the season. The Yellowjackets travel to Harlan (Harlan, KY) to confront the Green Dragons in a District 52 battle on Thursday, March 27. The Green Dragons come into the battle with a record of 3-2. Harlan won 10-0 in their recent league battle against Bell County (Pineville, KY)
