The Benton Rangers softball squad (Benton, IL), was edged 3-2 in Wednesday's non-league contest with the host Centralia Orphans (Centralia, IL)

With the triumph, Centralia improves its record to 3-0 on the year. The Orphans host Vandalia (Vandalia, IL) to face the Vandals in a non-league contest on Friday, March 28. The Vandals enter the contest with a record of 0-2. Vandalia lost 7-3 in their recent non-league contest against Lincolnwood (Raymond, IL)

The Rangers now hold a 3-3 record. They play next when they host Eldorado for a non-league contest on Thursday, March 27. Benton will face a Eagles squad coming off a 16-0 non-league loss to Pope County (Golconda, IL). The Eagles record now stands at 0-2.
