Sussex Academy Seahawks (Georgetown, DE) backers left the game pleased Wednesday as they saw their softball squad thwart the host Newark Charter School Patriots (Newark, DE), 14-1 in a non-league game.

With the triumph, Sussex Academy upgrades its record to 1-0 on the year. The Seahawks host Seaford (Seaford, DE) to face the Bluejays in a Henlopen South contest on Thursday, March 27. The Bluejays enter the contest with a record of 1-1. Seaford won 13-1 in their recent non-league contest against ASPIRA Charter (Newark, DE)

The Patriots now hold a 1-1 record. They play next when they host First State Military Academy for a Diamond State contest on Friday, March 28. Newark Charter School will face a Bulldogs squad coming off a 18-0 non-league loss to Brandywine (Wilmington, DE). The Bulldogs record now stands at 0-2.
