The Benton Rangers softball team scored 16 runs and held the visiting Eldorado Eagles to 5 in the Rangers non-league victory on Thursday.

Next, the Rangers meet the Carmi-White County Bulldogs (Carmi, IL) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, March 27. Benton will attempt to upgrade on its 2-4 season record. The Bulldogs go into the challenge with a 1-3 record after their 13-1 non-league loss to Carterville (Carterville, IL).

The Eagles (0-5) will now prepare for their challenge against Galatia/Thompsonville (Galatia, IL). The Bearcats go into the non-league challenge with a 4-2 record. In their last challenge, Galatia/Thompsonville was routed by Harrisburg (Harrisburg, IL), 9-0, in a non-league challenge.
