North Daviess Cougars (Elnora, IN) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Elmwood Park Tigers (Elmwood Park, IL), 8-2 in a non-league challenge.

The Cougars now own a 1-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Elizabethton for a non-league challenge on Tuesday, March 28. North Daviess will face a Fighting Cyclones squad coming off a 13-1 non-league win over Saint Viator (Arlington Heights, IL). The Fighting Cyclones record now stands at 8-1.

With the loss, Elmwood Park falls to 1-2 on the campaign. The Tigers host Walther Christian Academy (Melrose Park, IL) to face the Broncos in a non-league challenge on Friday, March 31. The Broncos enter the challenge with a record of 5-1. Walther Christian Academy won 16-1 in their recent non-league challenge against Proviso East (Maywood, IL)
