The Mars Fightin' Planets (Mars, PA) softball routed the visiting Hopewell Vikings (Aliquippa, PA), 8-3 in Monday's non-league bout.

The Fightin' Planets (1-1) will now prepare for their bout against Knoch (Saxonburg, PA). The Knights go into the non-league bout with a 0-0 record.

The Vikings now possess a 2-1 record. They play next when they host Ellwood City for a WPIAL 3A 2 bout on Monday, April 3.
