Apollo Hawks (Glendale, AZ) fans exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they observed their baseball squad overcome the visiting Bend Lava Bears (Bend, OR), 9-2 in a non-league test.

With the win, Apollo upgrades its record to 15-5 on the season. The Hawks travel to Willow Canyon (Surprise, AZ) to battle the Wildcats in a 5A Northwest test on Friday, March 29. The Wildcats come into the test with a record of 5-12. Willow Canyon lost 6-0 in their recent league test against Centennial (Peoria, AZ)

The Lava Bears (2-4) will now prepare for their game against Piedra Vista (Farmington, NM). The Panthers go into the non-league game with a 6-6 record. In their last game, Piedra Vista was overwhelmed by West Salem (Salem, OR), 7-2, in a non-league game.
