El Modena Vanguards (Orange, CA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Beaumont Cougars (Beaumont, CA), 4-2 in a non-league challenge.

The Vanguards now own a 13-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to Los Alamitos for a non-league contest on Thursday, March 28. El Modena will play a Griffins team coming off a 5-0 non-league win over Santiago (Corona, CA). The Griffins record now stands at 15-3.

In their next game, the Cougars play the Santiago Sharks (Corona, CA) in a non-league contest, on Thursday, March 28. Beaumont will attempt to move on its 9-4 season record. The Sharks come into the contest with a 9-8 record after their 5-0 non-league loss to Los Alamitos (Los Alamitos, CA).
