Spectators at Wednesday's non-league match between the Brown Bears (Louisville, KY) and the host Valley Vikings (Louisville, KY), witnessed Brown's softball squad prevail over Valley by a count of 27-14.

The Bears now sport a 1-0 record. They play next when they travel to Seneca for a non-league match on Tuesday, April 9.

With the loss, Valley moves to 0-5 on the season. The Vikings travel to Western (Louisville, KY) to meet the Warriors in a non-league match on Thursday, March 28. The Warriors go into the match with a record of 1-0. Western won 14-13 in their recent non-league match against Seneca (Louisville, KY)
