The crowd at Wednesday's non-league match between the Cocke County Fighting Cocks (Newport, TN) and the host Oneonta Redskins (Oneonta, AL), saw Cocke County's softball squad nip Oneonta by a count of 7-0.

The Fighting Cocks now sport a 5-4 record. They take the field next when they host Chuckey-Doak for a non-league match on Monday, April 1. Cocke County will face a Black Knights squad coming off a 3-1 league loss to Johnson County (Mountain City, TN). The Black Knights record now stands at 1-3.

With the loss, Oneonta falls to 8-15 on the campaign. The Redskins host West End (Walnut Grove, AL) to face the Patriots in a non-league match on Monday, April 1. The Patriots enter the match with a record of 11-4. West End lost 8-5 in their recent non-league match against Columbia Central (Columbia, TN)
