Gillespie Miners (Gillespie, IL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting Triad Knights (Troy, IL), 11-0 in a non-league challenge.

The Miners now own a 6-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Highland for a non-league challenge on Thursday, March 28. Gillespie will face a Bulldogs squad coming off a 11-1 non-league loss to St. Anthony (Effingham, IL). The Bulldogs record now stands at 3-2.

With the loss, Triad falls to 3-5 on the campaign. The Knights host Staunton (Staunton, IL) to face the Bulldogs in a non-league challenge on Thursday, March 28. The Bulldogs enter the challenge with a record of 4-2. Staunton lost 12-8 in their recent non-league challenge against Carrollton (Carrollton, IL)
