Chaparral Firebirds (Scottsdale, AZ) supporters left the game pleased Thursday as they saw their softball squad nudge the visiting McClintock Chargers (Tempe, AZ), 9-2 in a non-league game.

With the triumph, Chaparral improves its record to 9-9 on the year. The Firebirds travel to Arizona College Prep (Chandler, AZ) to play the Knights in a 5A East Sky game on Tuesday, April 1. The Knights enter the game with a record of 13-3.

The Chargers now hold a 6-3 record. They play next when they host Alhambra for a 5A Metro game on Friday, March 28. McClintock will play a Lions squad coming off a 18-4 league win over Central (Phoenix, AZ). The Lions record now stands at 1-6.
