New Iberia Yellowjackets (New Iberia, LA) supporters left the game thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Lafayette Lions (Lafayette, LA), 5-3 in a league game.

With the triumph, New Iberia improves its record to 4-12 on the year. The Yellowjackets travel to Acadiana (Lafayette, LA) to play the Rams in a 5A District 3 game on Tuesday, April 1. The Rams enter the game with a record of 12-9.

The Lions now hold a 9-7 record. They play next when they host V.B. Glencoe Charter for a non-league game on Monday, March 31. Lafayette will play a Gators squad coming off a 17-2 non-league win over West St. Mary (Baldwin, LA). The Gators record now stands at 4-4.
