Bowling Green Purples (Bowling Green, KY) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Allen County-Scottsville Patriots (Scottsville, KY), 8-6 in a non-league challenge.

The Purples now own a 2-1 record. They take the field next when they host Warren East for a District 14 challenge on Tuesday, March 29. Bowling Green will battle a Raiders squad coming off a 16-1 non-league win over Franklin-Simpson (Franklin, KY). The Raiders record now stands at 4-0.

With the loss, Allen County-Scottsville falls to 1-2 on the campaign. The Patriots host Barren County (Glasgow, KY) to battle the Trojans in a District 15 challenge on Thursday, March 31. The Trojans enter the challenge with a record of 5-1. Barren County won 8-1 in their recent non-league challenge against Russell County (Russell Springs, KY)
