Spectators at Monday's non-league match between the Mesa Jackrabbits (Mesa, AZ) and the visiting Cesar Chavez Champions (Laveen, AZ), witnessed Mesa's softball squad tip Cesar Chavez by a count of 10-9.

The Jackrabbits now sport a 2-5 record. They play next when they host Skyline for a 6A East Valley match on Tuesday, March 29. Mesa will face a Coyotes squad coming off a 22-2 non-league loss to Desert Ridge (Mesa, AZ). The Coyotes record now stands at 2-10.

With the loss, Cesar Chavez moves to 8-7 on the season. The Champions travel to North (Phoenix, AZ) to face the Mustangs in a 6A Metro match on Tuesday, March 29. The Mustangs go into the match with a record of 7-6. North won 17-4 in their recent league match against Maryvale (Phoenix, AZ)
